Willis E. Kuhns passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018, a day prior to his 84th birthday, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp. He was the husband of Carol A. (Keim) Kuhns, to whom he was married since 1971. Born in Lower Macungie Twp., he was the son of the late Willis B. and Leah R. (Guth) Kuhns. He was a member of Jordan Lutheran Church, Orefield. Bill is one of six children and graduated in ‘52 from William Allen HS, near the top of his class. He attended PSU on a USN ROTC scholarship, earning dual degrees in engineering. He served 3 years as a Naval Officer in Honolulu, HI. Upon returning to PA, Bill started working for Western Electric. Bill was an entrepreneur and in ‘64, bought Kuhns Motel from his dad. Soon thereafter, he left Western Electric and started his own entrepreneurial journey. Many businesses came and went over the years; impressive to watch and often the whole family contributed. Bill was always active within the community and served as Board of Directors of Allentown Lehigh County Tourist and Convention Center, past President of Jordan Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery Board, past President of Western Lehigh Lions Club where he received the Melvin Jones Award, present member of Kuhnsville Lions Club and as President, Lehigh Valley Parents Group for Hard of Hearing Children.

Survivors, Willis and Carol have a blended family of six children, Kathy (Jamie), Kimberly (Mindi), Kelley (Greg), Wally (Teresa), and Karla (Scott); he loved and will be missed by his fourteen grandchildren, also leaves behind a brother Larry (Marianne); sisters, Kate Herrington (Nevis) and Elizabeth Watsula (Steve). He was predeceased by a son Willis III, brother John and sister Nancy McClendon.

Services: 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 18 at Jordan Lutheran Church, 5103 Snowdrift Rd., Orefield. Calling will begin at 10:00 AM and burial with military honors to follow at Jordan Lutheran Cemetery.
