Earl M. Nothstein, Jr., aka “Junior” Nothstein, 84, of Allentown, passed away Saturday in Lehigh Valley Hospital with his loving family at his side. He was the husband of Leona F. (Hinnershitz) Nothstein. They were married in November, 1960. Born in Trexlertown, he was a son of the late Earl M., Sr. and Sally (McClellan) Nothstein. He co-owned, with his brother Wayne, Nothstein Ford in Kutztown in the 1960’s and Nothstein Dodge in Trexlertown from 1970 to 1983. He also was a co-owner of Nothstein Brothers Trucking and later solely owned Nothstein Aggregates Trucking and Nothstein Motors. Junior was a big block modified stock car builder and driver in the 1950’s and 1960’s and enjoyed deep sea fishing and hunting. He was a sergeant in the Army during the Korean Conflict. His memberships include St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Robert M. Fegely V.F.W Post 8282, Rural Sportsmen’s Association and Wescosville Fire Company.

Surviving with Leona are sons Brian L. of Wescosville and Glen E., husband of Beth, of Trexlertown, brother Wayne R. of Wescosville, sister Janice L. Liscka of Schnecksville, grandchildren Chasity, wife of Christopher Everett, Adam Nothstein and Amanda Kemeter. He was predeceased by a sister, Geraldine M. Eisenhard.

Services will be private with no calling hours in Schmoyer Funeral Home.
