Finnian W. Messick

Finnian William Messick, age 5, of Fleetwood, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Penn State Health Hershey Medical Center, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Easton, Finnian was the beloved son of Fredrick and April (Clyde) Messick. From the very beginning, Finnian was our miracle. His bright smile, kind heart, and joyful spirit brought happiness to everyone fortunate enough to know him. He never met a stranger and was known for greeting people with a cheerful "Hi" wherever he went. Finn had a special gift for making friends and bringing smiles to those around him. Finnian loved the simple joys of childhood. He enjoyed playing outdoors, watching and feeding wild turkeys and deer, and spending time with the people he loved most. He was a devoted fan of Bluey, Thomas the Train, and Paw Patrol, and his imagination and curiosity made every day an adventure. One of Finnian's greatest joys was the special bond he shared with his beloved Pappy, William. The two were inseparable best friends. Family often laughed as Finn would race past everyone else just to get to Pappy first, only to return moments later for a hug and kiss from his GranMimi. Their love, laughter, and countless treasured moments together created memories that will be cherished forever. Above all else, Finnian cherished his family. He shared an especially close bond with his grandparents, William and Rene Clyde, who adored him beyond measure. Whether sharing hugs, laughter, stories, or adventures, the love between Finn and his family was evident to everyone who knew them. Even in his passing, Finnian's loving spirit continues to shine. Through the gift of organ donation, he saved four lives, including the gift of his heart to another child. In doing so, he provided hope and healing to other children and families, creating a legacy of compassion and love that reflects the beautiful heart he shared with the world. In addition to his parents, Finnian is survived by his maternal grandparents, William and Rene Clyde of Barto; his paternal grandfather, Bob Messick of Fleetwood; his uncle Preston Clyde; his aunt and uncle Odessa and Nick May; his aunt and uncle Amber and Chad Troxel; his great-grandmother Elena Cantwell; his great-uncle David Cantwell; and his cousins Reid Glenn and Arsinoe Cantwell, along with many other family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory. Services for Finnian will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Schmoyer Funeral Home, 8926 Brookdale Road, Breinigsville, PA 18031. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Huffs Union Cemetery, Huffs Church, followed by a Celebration of Life. Memorial contributions in Finnian's memory may be made to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 117 E Arch St, Fleetwood, PA 19522. Though his time on earth was far too brief, Finnian's life was filled with love, laughter, and joy. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
