Hildegard Wetzel, 89, formerly of Breinigsville, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2019 at the Phoebe Home. She was the wife of the late Arthur S. Wetzel. Born in Fulda, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Wilhelm and Lina (Heger) Pausinger. Before retiring, she owned and operated Hildegard’s Custom Tailoring, Trexlertown from 1965-1990. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Trexlertown. She was a life member of the Flag Association of Allentown and a former asst. secretary and treasure and vice chairperson of Upper Macungie Twp. Sewer Authority. Survivors: brothers Gustav and Wiegbert; sisters Elisabeth Dehler and Anni Schneeberger, all of Germany, nephews Barry of Allentown, Steven of Bethlehem. She was predeceased by her daughter Peggy H. Shields, brothers Siegfried and Josef and sisters Theresia Wahl and Marianne Schulz. Services: 11:00 AM, Friday, July 5 at Schmoyer Funeral Home, 8926 Brookdale Rd., Breinigsville. Calling begins at 10:30 AM. Contributions can be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, c/o the funeral home.
