Dorothy M. Moyer

Dorothy M. “Dottie” (Immel) Moyer, 91, of Kutztown and formerly of Lyon Station, passed away peacefully on Monday August 31, 2026 with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Howard H. Moyer, Jr. Born in Reading, Dorothy was the daughter of the late William and Eva M. (Leiby) Immel. Dottie worked for 27 years as the Director of Transportation for the Kutztown School District retiring in 1997. Dottie was the former Tax Collector of the Lyons Borough for many years. Dottie loved to read, crochet, cook and bake for her family. She enjoyed traveling everywhere but enjoyed her trips to Europe and later to the lake and the shore. Dottie was a member of the Virginville Grange No. 1832, Lyons Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and Women in Zion. She was a longtime member of Zion Union Church, Maxatawny where she served on the church council for over 25 years. Above all Dottie loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorothy is survived by her son Randy A. Moyer, husband of Leona, of Hamburg; Daughters Suzanne L. Treichler, wife of Keith and Lori Arndt both of Kutztown; daughter in laws Dolores Moyer of Stony Run and Michele Hughes of NY. 11 grandchildren: Phillip Moyer, Theodore Moyer, Kristin Maderia, wife of Timothy, Carol Xander, wife of Josh, Alyse Markel, wife of Noah, Andrea Ritter, wife of Patrick, Brandon Treichler, husband of Sarah, Brett Treichler, husband of Laura, Brittni Harris, wife of Cody, Joshua Arndt and Jonah Arndt; 12 great grandchildren: Jacob, Samuel, Anna, Liliana, Ava, Colton, Luke, Sophia, Hannah, Asher, Deanna and Elise. In addition to her husband, Dorothy is preceded in death by her sons Rev. James Moyer and Timothy Moyer; sister Mary Kutz. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday September 4, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Zion (Maxatawny) Union Church, 329 Church Rd. Kutztown, PA 19530. A calling period will begin at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
